Known weak points
- Turbocharger failure from oil starvation: the oil feed pipe and sump strainer block with sludge, so pipes must be replaced with the turbo
- Injector seal (copper washer) leaks – chuffing noise and tar build-up around the injectors ("black death")
- DPF saturation on short trips and Eolys additive tank running empty
- EGR valve sticking, giving hesitation and limp mode
- Dual-mass flywheel rattle and clutch judder at higher mileage
