Known weak points
- Turbocharger failure from oil starvation or worn oil pump; always check oil pressure and clean/replace the oil feed pipe
- Injector faults (coding, leaks, sticking) causing rough idle, smoke and starting problems
- EGR valve clogging and intake sooting
- DPF loading and failed regenerations on short-trip cars (RN0720 oil is essential)
- Dual-mass flywheel and clutch wear; also keycard reader and electric handbrake electronics on higher trims
