Location

Open the driver's door and turn the plastic fastener a quarter turn on the cover to the left of the steering column, below the dashboard. Swing the cover down to reveal the fuse panel; the layout diagram is printed on the inside of the cover.

Fuses for the restraints control module and steering column lock carry low currents and should only be replaced with an exact match; using a higher rating can mask an airbag fault code. Kuga I versions without a tow bar preparation kit or heated washer nozzles leave the corresponding positions empty, which is normal. Fuse assignment varies by equipment level and production year. Always confirm with the label on the fuse box cover or the owner's manual.
