Location

Open the bonnet and look on the left side of the engine bay, right next to the battery. Unclip the black plastic cover at the front edge and lift it off; the fuse layout is printed on the underside of the lid.

The maxi fuses in the top rows feed high-current consumers such as the radiator fan, ABS/ESP pump and glow plug or secondary air system. Relay positions and some fuse ratings vary between petrol and diesel (TSI/TDI) versions, so always check the diagram on the lid. Switch off the ignition before pulling any fuse. Fuse assignment varies by equipment level and production year. Always confirm with the label on the fuse box cover or the owner's manual.
