Known weak points
- Intake manifold swirl-flap actuator and shaft failure on the A20DTH: rough running, P2015 and in bad cases flap screws dropping into the cylinders
- EGR valve clogging and sticking, with limp mode, black smoke and an engine light that returns after clearing
- Turbocharger failure from a blocked oil feed pipe; check the feed pipe and strainer whenever the turbo is replaced
- Injector and high-pressure pump faults showing as long cranking, loss of power and fuel-rail pressure codes (P0087/P0191)
- Electric parking brake actuator and cable failures, leaving the brake stuck on or refusing to apply
- Dual-mass flywheel and clutch judder on high-mileage manuals, plus front drop links knocking over bumps
