Known weak points
- Timing chain and guide rail wear on the N47 engine, located at the back against the bulkhead — a well-known and costly failure
- Swirl flap failures in the intake manifold causing rough running and risk of debris entering a cylinder
- EGR valve clogging with soot causing rough idle and limp mode
- Injector seal and injector failures causing hard starting and increased fuel consumption
- Turbocharger underboost and vacuum actuator diaphragm failures
- DPF clogging on short urban journeys requiring a forced regeneration
